Jeanette fully embraces a new opportunity with CCRC.
Child Care Resource Center (CCRC)
The Child Care Resource Center (CCRC) has been serving children, families, and child care providers since 1976. CCRC manages programs to assist with issues such as finding and selecting child care and child care financial assistance to families.
Jeanette first learned about the Retained HR Search with Gig Talent because she had been referred to another job within CCRC in the past, however at that time, she was not ready for the change. When the Director of Organizational Development opportunity came up, she spoke to the CHRO. After talking with the CHRO, she was connected with one of the Gig Talent recruiters and the process started moving quickly from there. The recruiting process at Gig Talent is not simply to place someone in a role, but to also serve as a guide to offer support, insight and advice so the candidate is set up for success along the way. The recruiters not only have many years of experience, extensive networks and large talent pools to actively search for the right fit, but there is also a true collaboration element within the approach when it comes to finding a talent fit that aligns with a company’s values, vision and culture. Throughout this process, the Gig Talent recruiter actively worked with Jeanette to understand her qualifications and experience, and also took the time to understand what she was really looking for as a next step in her future career.
One of the ways Gig Talent helps get a Retained HR Search candidate ready to navigate their new role is by offering all direct placements access to a professional coach. The coach works with the new hire 1:1 to assimilate to the new team and set a clear vision to prioritize necessary tasks, thus ensuring an integration plan where the new hire and the organization are set-up for long-term success. After Jeanette officially started with CCRC, her 90-day coaching began so she could get assimilated with the company thoughtfully and efficiently. She said,
“I was surprised that the coaching opportunity was available with this process, and I thought what an excellent way to introduce me to this organization and giving me those types of resources from the beginning. Overall, my experience with the Gig Talent coach was amazing. We were so well connected throughout the process, she was there to help validate the things that I was feeling, and she was so present for the interactions, it was just a fabulous experience and very helpful.”
During her coaching, Jeanette had the opportunity to focus on several different areas that were either new to learn or challenges to navigate. She mentioned, “My coach’s insight added so much value to the conversation. I remember a time when we talked about engaging the whole team into better communication which was an opportunity here – to improve communication overall, and my Gig Talent coach recommended a particular exercise to approach this the right way.” Jeanette also talked about a time where she and her coach were focused on how to best recognize accomplishments within her team, what people are committed to and how to embrace and celebrate wins, large or small.
“Sometimes in HR you just do, and you do and you do and when you’re done, you do more. Often there is no time for celebration and yet we should focus on celebrating the successes all around. My coach gave a lot of great insight and validation into that concept.”
Now that Jeanette has settled into her role and into the CCRC team, she reflected on the entire process up until this point. She mentioned how impressed she was with the whole process, from meeting with the recruiter, to receiving the 90-day coaching to getting started with the team.
“For me, this was a promotional move. You often think you’re ready for a big change and that might not always be the case, but in connecting with the Gig Talent recruiter and talking through the opportunity ahead about how ready I could have been to take this on, she was so reassuring by telling me how wonderful I would do. Here I’m thinking, this is a person that is representing me, and I need to be all that I can be for her to feel comfortable moving this forward. So, when you talk about meeting or exceeding expectations, the whole interaction with Gig Talent has totally exceeded my expectations.”
“I want to tell you I’ve worked for two large global companies, and I have not seen this level of commitment before. If I in the future have an opportunity to seek this type of service again, I would certainly come back to the Gig Talent team. I would be more than happy to recommend and tell people in my network how much value this process adds to the onboarding experience and the support you think you may need right from the start.”
